Folks, I *think* we have a winner in the quest for a fuel pump …

The fuel pump that my parts man said would work that was listed on Amazon arrived, and while its a little smaller in diameter, it appears more likely to work without any modification to the pump or the factory fuel lines. Great news, eh??

The weather looks like rain tomorrow (Thursday), but Friday looks very promising — sunny and temps in the 70s. I’m planning to get the new pump installed. Once installed, we’ll confirm if it was truly the issue. If not, then I’m going to have to drop the gas tank and see what it looks like inside. The tank has a fixed fuel pickup, so there’s no real way to service it. I’m ready to buy a new tank if necessary, which won’t break the bank.

I’m really anxious to get the Plymouth running and back on the road. The fuel pump will either fix it or point to the true problem in the tank. But if it runs like it should, I will again check my cooling system to make sure the thermostat is working and coolant is being pumped thru the radiator and engine block.

Well, wish me luck.
