The Shadetree Garage is pretty much functional again! My new compressor is up and running. My new regulator arrived in yesterday’s mail as scheduled; however, I mistakenly ordered one that only has 1/4″ input and output, and can handle only up to 150 psi. I don’t want a filtering system that’s going to choke down the airflow that much, so last night I ordered the same type of filter with 3/4 in diameter fittings, and can take up to like 250 psi.
I’ll put the new filter setup on the output of the compressor, and the smaller one will go in the garage. I may end up adding a dessicant type water filter system; since the air compressor is closer to the garage, the length of feeder hose will be shorter, which will not give the compressor air as much time to cool off. I’m still thinking of a compressor air water trap — the copper pipe type that zigzags up and down to give the compressed air time to allow it to cool, and let the condensed moisture fall out.
I’m thinking of branching off my air line into two lines inside the garage — one air line for tools, the second one for spray guns. The second would have the extra filtering for moisture.
Well, enough for this installment. My largere diameter filtrationl unit shouild arrive tomorrow.
